SPORT TRAC - An Overlooked Gem!

The 2008 Ford Sport Trac is a very overlooked and underappreciated
vehicle in the Ford Lineup. I recently had the opportunity to drive one
for a week and was very impressed. I have a Family of four, Wife and
two kids, and it had room for everyone and then some. The ride was
very impressive for a truck, it really felt more like an SUV, and the
utility is awesome. Plenty of room in the bed for Groceries, storage,
anything in general, although a tonneau cover is a great benefit in
the case of groceries.

Here are the stats on the FORD SPORT TRAC..

UNDER THE HOOD: There are two options here.. First is Sport Trac's
standard 4.0L SOHC V6 engine with 5-speed automatic transmission
provides an impressive combination of power and value. The smooth
and quiet powertrain churns out 210 hp and 254 lbs.-ft. of torque while
providing an EPA estimated 14 mpg city/20 hwy (4x2) and 13 city/19
hwy (4x4). Second option for the Sport Trac is the Sport Trac is the
available 4.6L V8 engine features 3 valves per cylinder and advanced
variable cam timing technology. It cranks out an awesome 292 hp and
300 lb.-ft. of torque.

CAPABILITY: Bring your favorite recreation vehicles along on your next
trek. When properly equipped, a V8-powered Sport Trac 4x2 has a maximum
Class III/IV towing capacity of 7,160 lbs. (7,000 lbs. with 4x4). The
V6-powered Sport Trac is pretty impressive, too, with a 5,260-lb. rating
(4x2) and 5,090 lb. rating (4x4).

SAFETY: Sport Trac has earned 5-Star ratings from the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for front and side-Impact crash tests
at all four seating positions. 2008 Ford Sport Trac provides more airbag
protection than ever. Front and side airbags for the driver and front seat
passenger. And now standard, the Safety Canopy™ system with side curtain
airbags providing protection in a rollover accident for the front and second-row
outboard passengers. In certain side impacts or rollovers, the airbags stay
inflated longer for enhanced head and shoulder protection. Even with this
comprehensive airbag coverage, always remember to buckle up your safety
belt and secure children in the rear seat. The available DVD-based Navigation
System is a must-have for people on the go. Equipped with intersection
programming, the system calls out approaching street names. Another
helpful feature is the optional Reverse Sensing System that detects and
then alerts you to objects up to 6 ft. behind you when you're slowly backing up.

TECHNOLOGIES: The 2008 Ford Sport Trac is now available with SYNC, an
integrated, voice-activated communication and media system. It allows you
to operate your Bluetooth® phone and access your MP3 player by genre,
album, artist or song title with simple voice commands. You can even make
music selections through your flash drive by voice command. Want to know

scraping the windshield. The optional heated windshield utilizes micro-thin
tungsten heating elements embedded in the glass that can melt snow and
ice incredibly fast. No more need to fumble for your keys in your pocket or

in the XLT model is a driver door-mounted keypad. Just plug in the
programmed code and open the door. Provides convenience as well as
added security.

All in all you can do a lot with this very versatile, fully functional, great driving,

Ford has made it their goal to stay well ahead of the pack when it comes to technology
for their vehicles. Now they have done it once again. The New Ford Work Solutions is a
fantastic tool for the Business Owner. Here are a couple of the things that it does for you...

1. The 2009 Ford F-150 will be the first vehicle to have it available in. It will have an
Industry first In-Dash Computer system with keyboard, for typing and printing
documents from the Field, Creating Spreadsheets, Updating Forms, Printing of
Invoices, keeping track of anything that you need through a regular PC, right
from the comfort of your vehicle.

2. Crew Chief will track your entire fleet with a simple onboard device. This will
enable you to follow your entire fleet with one click of a button either remotely
or on your Work Solution Computer screen. With a touch of that button you will
be able to see where all of your trucks are.. Where they should be... and if they
are following all posted speed limits as well. If you click on the individual vehicle,
you can connect right with the driver and talk to him in an instance.

3. Cablelock is an 8FT steel cable that is located in the bed of the truck that is
spring loaded and will enable you to lock your tools in the bed. It then can be
woven through the handles of all of you larger items for safe keeping.

4. Toollink will enable you to electronically tag and scan all of your smaller tools
putting them into a computer for track ability. Then you can check them out to
an individual, know when they have been removed without being checked out,
and have electronic documentation of who had it last. Creating security, making
people responsible for returning them, helping to never lose one again.

The 2009 Ford Escape

2009 FORD ESCAPE

For 2009 the Ford Escape has had a couple of overdue adjustments.
The first is the addition of the 2.5 Liter 4 Cyl. Engine. The New engine
adds 11% more horsepower, increasing it to 170 horses, and adds 1
gallon to the MPG rating. In addition there is a new transmission, a
6 speed auto replacing the 4 speed on the 08 model. Giving the Escape
4 cyl a needed boost off the line. Much of the Interior features and
Exterior upgrades have remained, since the Escape just had a refacing
for the 2008 model.

Bottom line? The Escape now has a competent 4 cyl. sibling, to compliment
the already fantastic V6 bigger brother. Either engine you choose, the Ford
Escape will be fun to drive, great on gas, and have plenty of room for the
Family.
